Am 9. November verstarb im Alter von 77 Jahren nach einem Konzert in Madrid der geniale New Orleans Produzent Allen Toussaint.Einen kleinen Teil seiner über 800 geschriebener und viel mehr produzierter Songs spielt sein Fan Stereopaul heute vor.
Auch mit Skip Easterling am Mikrofon, der am 21. November im Alter von 70 Jahren Toussaint in den Soulhimmel folgte. In Teil 1 der Würdigung im Rahmen der Global Beatbox gibt es heute heißen R`n`B & frühen Soul vom feinsten zu hören.

am 6.10. verstarb der New Orleans Drummer Smokey Johnson im Alter von 79 Jahren. Er trommelte auf hunderten von begehrten Funk & Soul – Platten der 60er & 70er Jahre, bevor er später Fats Dominos Schlagzeuger wurde. Zum Abschied spielt Stereopaul einige der Scheiben,
von denen es sicher ist das sie durchs Smokeys Beat getrieben wurden, denn er war ein Schlagzeuger der auch Platten unter seinem Namen eingespielt hat.

Ein weiteres Mal würdigt die Global Beatbox in dieser Woche das Schaffen des im September 2015 verstorbenen jamaikanischen Posaunisten Rico Rodriguez. Im Teil 2 geht es um seine Aufnahmen ab 1969, seine Londoner Erfolge zur Zeit des Skinhead Reggae, seine jamaikanischen Roots Reggae Aufnahmen Mitte der 70er Jahre, seine Zusammenarbeit mit der englischen Ska-Punk Band the Specials und seine Aufnahmen mit der Band Jazz Jamaica Anfang der 90er Jahre.
