Global Beatbox 105 (10.09.2015) Tribute to Rico Rodriguez

Am 4. September starb der jamaikanische Posaunist Rico Rodriguez im Alter von 80 Jahren in London, wo er seit Anfang der 60er Jahre lebte. Rico war Urgestein der jamaikanischen Popmusik, seine Posaune ist auf unzähligen Aufnahmen seit den 50er Jahren zu hören. Neben Rhythm & Blues Platten in den 50er Jahren auf Jamaika, Ska und Reggae Aufnahmen in den 60er und 70er Jahren in London und dem Roots Reggae Meilenstein „Man From Wareika“ spielte er mit Bands wie Georgie Fame & the Blue Flames, der englischen Ska-Punk Band the Specials und dem Orchester von Jools Holland.

In dieser Global Beatbox gibt es Musik aus Ricos frühen Jahren bis ca. 1970, am 8. Oktober folgt das das Global Beatbox Tribute To Rico Teil 2!
