Am 25. August starb der jamaikanische Sänger und Komponist Larry Marshall im Alter von 75 Jahren. Nicht nur gilt sein 1968er Hit „Nanny Goat“ als eine der ersten Reggaeaufnahmen überhaupt, ab 1970 bestimmte er als Toningenieur den Sound des legendären Studio One und er wird unter anderem dafür verantwortlich gemacht, Burning Spear ins Aufnahmestudio geholt zu haben.

Als der jamaikanische Sänger Prince Buster im September letzten Jahres starb, war klar, dass eine einzige Global Beatbox Ausgabe nicht genug sein kann, um einen Mann seines Kalibers angemessen zu würdigen.
Prince Buster war Sänger, äußerst erfolgreicher Plattenproduzent, Soundsystem- und Schallplattenladenbesitzer und war in vielerlei Hinsicht eine bemerkenswerte und zentrale Figur in der Entwicklung der jamaikanischen Popmusik in den 60er Jahren.
